Torn

I found out about this dollhouse from Katie, and am in love with it. The question is, will my children fall in love with it like I have? It's marked down to $63!! With free shipping! That seems ridiculously cheap to me for such a product, but I hate spending big money on one toy and then having said toy sit in a corner collecting dust and cat fur. Also, it's sort of big, so it's something one has to really want in their toy room.

Also, does anyone have this Dirt Devil Accucharge stick vacuum? I am in desperate need of a (preferably cordless) vacuum that I can use for the daily under-the-kitchen-table cleaning that must be done. This one has good reviews on amazon, but I am concerned about the noise level. Do you have any insight or recommendations for me?

I was going to tell you that I definitely think you should get the castle. It really isn't overly big...and I think that your girls will love it. Just get some Sleeping Beauty figurines to go with it! We had some kids over the other day and they were ALL playing with it. Even the boy!

Also, I saw the Mazda crossover today and it is REALLY pretty. It almost looks like a Lexus. I think you should get that too!

I have a different dirt devil thing and it doesn't really do as good as job as I hoped. The one you picked out looks really good! Get that as well. GO SHOPPING. Bottome line from me... :)

I don't have this vacuum, I have the cheaper option of the Swivel Sweeper. It's not perfect, but I LOVE it. It's not that loud, the battery holds a charge for a few days of total kitchen floor cleaning, and it's light weight. The kids LOVE using it. Even Isaac cleans the floor for me! It picks up pretty well and is easy to empty. It picks up better on the short sides vs. the long front end, for little or stubborn pieces. The only down side, for me, is that the brushes on the underside need to have the hair stripped out of them that inevitably collects on our floor, too. Anyway, I'm sure this option would be much better, except for the possibility of the noise. Isaac is scared of our vacuum, but (like I said) loves to use the Swivel Sweeper. 'Nuf said!

We have a rather large dollhouse - when Julia was 3 she would take the Madam Alexander dolls we got from McDonalds and act out Cinderella. They still use it - and neighbor kids like to play with it. I have a carpet sweeper that doesn't charge or plug in for sweeping up a quick cheerio spill or whatever. Right now my vacuum seems to sit out 24/7 but the carpet sweeper was especially handy when I put the vacuum away.

The castle is adorable. You have to get it. Especially with two girls that like princess stuff. I think it is a good price. We have a wooden doll house and both the kids like to play with it. Who makes this castle?

I don't have a cordless vacuum but I do have the Dirt Devil broom vac. I love it. It is my favorite cleaning item in the house. That being said I think I also want a cordless vacuum now for carpet and stairways.

Steph, it's a Melissa & Doug castle, which is another reason I'm going to order it today. It's Claire's birthday in 3 weeks, so it will be a birthday present for her from my grandma.

I'm a little late, but I also wanted to comment on the car blog, but I wanted you to still see it, so I'll put it here. For what it's worth, we LOVED our Saturn. Now, I haven't looked at new cars in over a decade, so I'm totally out of the loop and don't even know what the crossovers you're talking about look like. But our Saturn was fabulous! It required almost no maintenance for the 10 years we had it (from brand new) and it was also much less to insure than other comparable cars. Anyway, just in case you wanted to know...
